06/08/05 -- I'm inclined to agree with Hugh on this one.  Lance is my favorite member of the Voltron Force.  I can't help but admire his dry wit and sarcasm during all of the high stakes battles that Voltron was involved in.  Those of you who have never seen Voltron may be saying to yourselves, "If Lance piloted the Red lion, why was his suit blue?"  I wish I had an answer for you.  Keith, who wore the red suit, piloted the black lion.  Sven, who wore a black suit piloted the blue lion, and was later replaced by Princess Allura.  Can you guess what color her suit was?  If you guessed pink, then you're right.  I know it all seems very confusing but if you watched the show in the 80's this all makes sense.

Anyway, enough Voltron lore.  It was mentioned in the comments for Monday's strip that Bot is mellowing out.  This is very much true.  I'm trying to get Bot away from the typical "always angry, hateful robot" thing.  I like angry robots, but it's been done and done and done.  Honestly, I think Bot is much more entertaining when he's happy about things every now and then.  He will still have a temper and he'll still mess with Hugh here and there, but as the strip progresses there will be more evidence supporting the fact that Hugh & Bot are friends.  The most recent storyline was a jump in that direction.

I got my copy of The Aquabats new album Charge!! today and it is a delight!  The 'bats have proved once again that evil will not go unpunished as long as rock music is around to give it a solid punch in the face.
